About Us

‘Wear a Red Ribbon Today!’ is a bloggers’ concerted effort to raise increased awareness among people both in the cyber- and the real world about HIV/AIDS. Wearing a red ribbon is a simple and powerful way to challenge the stigma and prejudice surrounding AIDS. Our aim is to have more people wearing the red ribbon -not just as an ornament- in almost everything that they do. The red ribbon represents support for people living with HIV, as well as challenges the often negative stigma and prejudice surrounding AIDS.

The red ribbon has been an international symbol of HIV for 15 years. Wear one with pride over the year to show your support for the 40 million people living with HIV worldwide. Awareness and prevention go hand in hand. When you wear a red ribbon, you help to support the global campaign against HIV/AIDS by preventing the spread of HIV and getting more people talking when you make the red ribbon visible.
